Saying a Virtual Goodbye

I am ready to say a virtual goodbye to this interesting and crazy end of a school year. I know students and colleagues, not just mine have felt disconnected and anxious about virtual learning. I have mixed emotions about it. I love change and this experience really challenged me. Pivoting from in class to virtual was embraced, rejected, and then embraced again. This past Friday was technically my last day with students. It was bittersweet saying goodbye virtually. I extended a challenge to them to stay connected throughout summer with different sewing and fashion challenges. Over 90 percent of my students whom surveyed said they were interested in being engaged in learning and deepening their fashion love. Personally, I was blown away by this statistic. I never thought they would want to continue our journey. I will have to go forward connecting on social platform’s which is another learning experience for me. We need to meet students where they are and of course it’s online!

Desk cleaned off, ready to start prepping for the new school year to come…whatever that may look like.
